For Renate Seffer, creating is a natural state of being as is her ability to capture the magic of life in its many shapes and forms.  Known for her vivid imagination and bold use of color, Renate's works often touch on themes of love, humor, nature, adventure and experiences of the world through grateful and curious eyes, attracting the young at heart with happiness and sensitivity.  Her enchanting and evocative works are inspired by her surroundings, the people she meets, her cultural experiences and of course her island dog 'Gidget' whose gregarious life often appears in many of her works.

A native of Australia, Renate grew up surrounded by an eclectic mix of culture, art, music and constant change.  As a self-taught Artist she credits her strong creative drive to family genes and the continuous mentoring of her  mother who instilled in her from a very early age, knowledge and appreciation for all forms of art.

In 1995, after years on walkabout, Renate was lured to the stunning oceans and friendly local vibe of the Cayman Islands.  It was there that she met and married the love of her life & creative partner Mikael and immersed herself into the local art scene.

As an established artist, Renate has exhibited extensively over the years both locally and internationally with group shows in Canada, Spain and New York.  Her work has been highlighted in magazines, on wine labels and added to many overseas and local collections including the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands.  Renate is currently represented by The Gallery, Ritz Carlton, Seven Restaurant at the Ritz and White Dog Art Space in Breakers.
